8 Months

What a joy you are! You have just started to sleep a little better. You take decent naps and have slept 10p-3:30 am a couple of times. I am hoping for an 8 hour night, but I know it will happen. I do enjoy your sweet little snuggles every morning. You have started to pull up on everything. You are super proud of your accomplishments. You have fallen a few times and really banged your head and it is so sad. Also, you can pull up in the crib and then are "stuck" unable to sit back down. You are so excited to see Daddy and almost jump out of my arms to him. Your favorite veggie seems to be green peas, but you prefer the rice cereal with formula above anything else. You are doing a good job picking up cheerios and veggie puffs also.

7 Months

We spent your 7th month in Mexico. What a wonderful family trip! Grammy and Pops were there with us and loved getting to spend everyday with you. You are crawling more and enjoying eating your vegetables. I tried to give you avocado, but you didn't care much for it. You loved the water and the sand, but we didn't put you in much because of your ears. We were able to have a nanny for a few hours each day to keep you out of the hot sun. Her name was Ileana and we all loved having her. She fell in love with you and was so sad to see us leave. You are such a happy smiley baby and get super excited to see your siblings!

6 Months

You are moving all over the place! We had huge snow storms and got to spend 4 days at the farm with Grandmadel. Your first big snow and it was a record for Oklahoma. Then on Feb 10th we left for our trip to Cancun, Mexico for 4 weeks. The day we left the temperature was 27 degrees below ZERO! We couldn't wait to get to warm and sunny weather. The day before we left you had tubes put in your ears to help with the constant ear infections. I was really hoping that it would help you sleep better.

Exersaucer time!

Well, you weigh in at 17 pounds! What a big boy you are. You haven't been sleeping very well and it has really thrown me for a loop. You want to be constantly attached to Mommy. Honestly, it has been a rough month, but I sure do love you. You always look at me with those sweet adoring eyes that melt my heart every time. You are rolling over from front to back and back to front. You love to sit in the exersaucer that Grammy & Pops got you for Christmas. You have eaten rice cereal, carrots and started squash this week. You are happy to eat any time. You can sit supported, scoot backwards, and try to get anything I have. You are still a wonderfully smiley baby and giggle all the time. I think you completely love all of the attention you get from your siblings! Also, you have a great time in the bath and love to kick your feet and splash water everywhere. We recently found that you had an ear infection even though you had no fever. Maybe this is the reason for your sleeplessness. I am hoping that you improve on the sleeping! We are counting down the days until our trip to Mexico. I am sure that you will love it there just as the rest of us do.

Charlie & Jack

We love Thursdays when Gramadel comes to visit. Jack always has a smile for her.

Your first Christmas. It was so wonderfully peaceful. We stayed home this year to spend Christmas morning together. All of the kids were excited to open their gifts and we had so much fun watching each other and sharing the time together. Jack, of course, loved the paper and boxes! He has a shirt that says, "All Mommy wants for Christmas is a Silent Night." That could not be more true! Oh to sleep again. Some day... :-) After the opening of gifts we went to Fayetteville to celebrate with the Shankle family. It was crazy wonderful chaos as always!

Jack's first Christmas Tree

I love all of our stockings. I bought them when we had only 3 children. I bought enough for 6 children. This year I ordered another for baby Jack.

On your 4 Month birthday I took you to see Blythe our PA. You weighed 16 pounds 4 ounces! What a chunk! I am so happy about how wonderfully you are growing. She said that I could try some rice cereal to see if it helps you sleep better. You sleep at night from 10 pm- 2 am then often wake every hour after. Your day time naps are not much better only about 1 hour usually. Here are pics of your first bites of cereal. You really have enjoyed it and do a great job eating! I love you so much, my little sack of sugar!
